Dieffenbachia Camouflage | Not-Fancy Plant

Price

$35.00

When I say this is my favorite plant…y’all. This thing grows. It came off my Mama plant, and it has TAKEN OFF in its deep pot! I can see all the roots, white and shiny and ready to go home with you.

Frankly, if I thought I had space for 3-4 “dumb canes”, I’d keep it. No lie.

Dieffenbachia are dubbed “dumb canes” for a reason. They just keep growing, and frankly, you’d be hard pressed to actually kill them. Like those weeds I used to hate pulling in the garden back in Bama (yes, I see the irony), these guys just keep coming back.

I’m pretty sure the reason is the aggressive root structure. When they grow they grow. I’ve heard they can be a little limp after a transplant but if we’re being frank, I’ve never seen it.

Because they’re variegated, you’ve gotta throw light at them, just like any other variegated plant. But really, for a super affordable, not even a little bit fancy plant, this thing has PRESENCE.

It will take up any corner of your room, going up, making babies, producing those really big, really pretty jungle-like leaves. It’s seriously the plant version of instant gratification.

Maybe it doesn’t seem like this not-fancy plant should be in inventory here b/c it’s so mundane. IDGAF. I love it. You’ll love it. Get you some down to earth plants and feel good about your growing skills!

This plant is currently living in a 6" heavy-duty clearliner with attached tray to accommodate its luscious root system. It’s potted in my signature 'Not Dirt' substrate—I won't sell the mix to you because it’s a hot mess to make, but the plants clearly love the drama of it.

I’ve vetted these beauties to ensure they’re healthy and happy, but I can’t guarantee what they’ll do once they leave my greenhouse. If I could control nature, I’d be a wizard, and I’d probably have a much cooler hat. 🧙‍♂️
