6" Double-Planted Tortum | Spider'y

Like spiders? Me neither. But, if you have a Tortum, you basically have the spider of plants. I KNOW it isn’t really a spider. I know. But, arachnophobia being what it is…I’ve been unable to jive with this plant, despite really enjoying it from afar.

It takes up a larger footprint than I expected too. I mean, it’s not huge, but those leaves are fairly long, even if they’re basically just leaf skeletons. And precisely BECAUSE they’re leaf skeletons, they’re fragile. You don’t want to put this plant somewhere you’ll bump up against it regularly. It prob won’t die, but you’ll be mad about your weird 4-legged spider leaves.

I guess basically the best thing I have for anyone interested in this plant is: if you don’t have anything like it in your collection, it’ll be a cool novelty piece for you. I think so. That’s part of why I have it in the first place. 

This plant is currently double-potted in a 6" clear liner to accommodate its luscious root system. It’s potted in my signature 'Not Dirt' substrate—I won't sell the mix to you because it’s a hot mess to make, but the plants clearly love the drama of it.

I’ve vetted these beauties to ensure they’re healthy and happy, but I can’t guarantee what they’ll do once they leave my greenhouse. If I could control nature, I’d be a wizard, and I’d probably have a much cooler hat. 🧙‍♂️
