Pink Princess Philodendron | Opinions are Like...

Price

$55.00

These guys have been getting a bad rap lately. I think most of it is due to people not knowing what they were getting into, but you know what they say about opinions.

Anyway, I’ve had nothing but great luck with Pink Princesses. I will say, if you want them to go through super growth spurts, they need lots of light (b/c there’s so much dark and b/c the pink doesn’t really do much for them, photosynthesis-wise) and they do genuinely thrive with higher humidity.

If you’re just a regular folk in a regular house, you’ll likely have to keep an eye on this plant. Not because it’ll keel over and die, but because the leaves will get stuck coming out of the sheaths. Remember when you’re cursing about having to do it that you purchased a princess, and princesses are, by definition, slightly more maintenance than us regular girls.

She’s the high-maintenance friend who’s worth the drama. If you can handle the lighting requirements, she’ll reward you; if not, don't say I didn't warn you.

This plant is currently living in a 3.5" clear liner to accommodate its luscious root system. It’s potted in my signature 'Not Dirt' substrate—I won't sell the mix to you because it’s a hot mess to make, but the plants clearly love the drama of it.

I’ve vetted these beauties to ensure they’re healthy and happy, but I can’t guarantee what they’ll do once they leave my greenhouse. If I could control nature, I’d be a wizard, and I’d probably have a much cooler hat. 🧙‍♂️
